3 going on 4 months

We (papa, me and you two babies) have survived another month! Once again, we marvel at how much you have grown.

Boyboy, you have grown much physically and tip the scales at a hefty 6.8kg, and length of 60.5cm during your 3 month visit to the polyclinic. Your weight falls within the 70th to 95th percentile, something that shocks your daddy and me since we are probably on the lighter end of the population spectrum. The polyclinic nurse tried to assuage our fears by saying you are closer to the 70th than 95th percentile. See, that comes from being a milk guzzler. But I love your chubby cheeks and nommable thighs.

just want a hug

You swipe your toys with great concentration now, and far better precision now. You would sometimes stare at the plastic toys with intensity and caress them as if you are in love with them. Right now you love putting weight on your feet. You cry when left too long on the mat, and are absolutely thrilled when we help you stand on your feet. You try to make little steps too.

mei mei playing with your hair

You had your haircut this month too. You had a glorious head of hair when you were born, and it bloomed into a hair explosion. Sadly, you have a bad case of baby pattern baldness and bit of scalp folliculitis. So your papa decided to lop it all off :( but it’s ok, it will grow back, bigger and better!

your crowning glory

Meimei you weighed in at 5.2kg, slightly shorter than your gorgor at 59.5cm during the polyclinic visit. I have gotta give you props for being a brave girl during your vaccinations - you took the shot and the oral rotavirus vaccine with less complaint. I think you have a high pain threshold. But when you are not pleased, you complain with much gusto. I said in my previous note that you are more reserved, I take that back now. You smile a lot more now, but you cry so much louder now! You cry with passion and with the force of the universe behind you, till the point your face turns all red. Not fun stuff.

You adore bath time, and I cannot help but let you play longer because you look so cute enjoying yourself. You will kick your little legs around, and your bath toy about too. Sometimes you will catch the bath toy between your legs.

Meimei you managed to escape a haircut this time because you don’t have much hair to begin with. Your head still looks like a kiwi fruit.

We have now started to put you both next to each other to play together. However it quickly becomes a food show. Meimei, you look like you have the upper hand. You would manoeuvre your gorgor’s hand towards your mouth and lick it with great relish. Is your gorgor delicious? You would also raise your legs to aim well placed kicks at your gorgor. Poor gorgor, you look like you may well be bullied by your meimei next time.

Both of you do not like tummy time, and start crying after you are left on your tummy for awhile. Both of you raise your necks better now, but still have some way to go. Truncal support still needs work, hopefully you guys learn these skills soon because I can’t wait to start you guys on solids!

Gorgor's hand not available

We still have some way to go in helping you guys sleep better too. As I type this, papa is trying to get meimei to sleep (it is 9pm now) and we have been trying to get you to sleep for the past 2 hours. Popo and me have tried, and it’s now papa’s turn. Give chance ok? We are nubcakes too. I have started calling you minister meimei because it looks like you are the real boss of the house (move away papa, a new boss is in town). Gorgor, my nickname for you is professor gorgor because I think you look learned, but papa says you look like a nerd. Oh wells we will see how you guys develop.

Signing off for now, till the next note my little rascals:)

P.s it’s 10pm now. Meimei why are you still up?!  (You kept us up till 11pm yesterday and papa and I are still traumatised.) You also did a number 2 and popo cleaned your shit. You look pleased.

Pleased as punch after pooping
P.p.s just in case anyone who’s reading this thinks that ah boy sleeps like an angel, nope, he sleeps like the terror that he is. It’s the next day and he woke up crying at 5+am. Defo not hungry as he had a super full milk feed an hour before. And took hours to put him down for a nap. Halp.
