Bringing Babies; An Hour of Fun at Tayo Station, Downtown East; A Review of an Indoor Playground

A first foray to the world of premium (must pay) indoor playgrounds for the babies.
Wife's been adamant about bringing the kids before they turn 1 to Pororo Park but we didn't know we had to book way in advance, so we went to Tayo Station at Downtown East instead.

The reason for the rush is infants go in free. So we just had to pay for the accompanying adult which is SGD6 per adult.

Each play slot is 2 hours. Ended up only using 1 hour because crawling around with the kids is hard work.

It is divided into multiple play areas, a wood chip sensory play area, a bouncy castle, jungle gym, ball pit, mini road circuit

First up the "sandpit", it's actually cubes of wood, and it is actually quite uncomfortable to step or sit on it, but less chance of your baby swallowing it as opposed to the smaller seed like things other places use. Usual plethora of shovels, buckets and dump trucks.

Had to clear up a sitting area for her initially

There is a bouncy castle, but my babies didn't really get to play in that once since they can't really walk yet.

Next up the jungle gym. As connoisseurs of climbing, I thought they would enjoy this more, but there were too timid and didn't really want to explore without me or mama right behind them.

This is my first time in indoor playground since Quest Zone was still a thing at Suntec, I'd forgotten how tiring this was. Adults can't stand upright, so you bear crawl the whole way.

I wanted to go down the slide from the top with my boy but he didn't want to progress any higher by himself and I just couldn't carry him up. Flashbacks to my NSF days casevac-ing during enemy contact ensued.

loves crashing into those punching bag thingies

A more easily accessible slide.

For the road circuit, you need to reserve a timeslot as it is pretty popular. My babies can't ride by themselves so we had to go tandem.

Not happy being chauffered and not in control, my boy preferred to just walk around.

Full tank, sir?

Last stop was the ball pit and the kids loved it. But watch out for the big kids who want to play rough and run into your babies, you got to body shield your kids.

Boy drowning in the corner, but mama's busy

Overall a great debut into the world of premium indoor playgorunds. The kids enjoyed themselves and got home thoroughly knackered. It's cheap if you go before they turn 1.

Only gripe is that there isn't any change or nursing room on premise.
