Bringing Babies; A review of S.E.A. Aquarium, Sentosa with Kids

Brought my twins to S.E.A Aquarium at Sentosa. They seemed to enjoy it.

Welcome to another episode of Bringing Babies.

It's my birthday and the initial plan was to go to the zoo, but the support staff (grandparents) were not too keen, complaining about the sun, how they just missed the senior citizen price and something about the babies' wake time. Besides, the zoo no longer offers free entry to the birthday boy.

Babies go in free, adults cost SGD32, senior citizens SGD23. However if you are aunty enough like my wife, you will know you can actually buy the tickets online from shopee, carousell etc. Tour agencies are selling them for discounted prices.

If you are driving in you can just pay for the Resorts World Sentosa Parking and avoid the Sentosa entrance fee.

Now, you have to tamper expectations, it's not going to be like Osaka and Okinawa where you get to see whale sharks. There was also some outrage about keeping dolphins, so I'm not sure if they got rid of them or just didn't bring in any more, but you don't really get to see dolphins.

That said this aquarium is good for children of which there were plenty. The aquarium complex is not sprawling so the kiddies don't get too overtired.

There is a water tunnel, pretty standard stuff, you got to see some sharks.

You get your giant tank, but no whale sharks here, there are some big rays.

You get your jellyfish under all the neon lights.

You get your corals and bright coloured fish, I love those.

He likes those too

There is a little petting pool at the end of the exhibition. This would probably be the most exciting highlight for your kids. Unfortunately because it's all the way at the end, my boy didn't last.
They've only got starfish for the children to touch. That's just fine for my girl who just wants to play with the water.

She just wants to splash about

Waste my money, go aquarium to sleep

Overall worth the trip? It's pretty expensive for an aquarium that's only ok, especially if you've been to the ones in Okinawa or Osaka. I didn't see any sea turtles, no whale sharks, no octopus, there weren't any shows, no behind the scenes. But now that travel is restricted, it is still a nice convenient place to bring your kids to look at the marine life. Also, don't buy full priced tickets!

As for the nursing room, it's all the way at the end of the exhibit, just before the exits. It's pretty small, no hot water dispenser, so bring your own flask.
