Bringing Babies; to Baby Friendly Restaurant TIm Ho Wan at Jewel, Changi
We find out if Tim Ho Wan is baby twin friendly for you, so you don't have to the hard way.
TL;DR. Almost ran out of baby chairs, but no one will look at you funny with your babies.
As they grow closer to their first birthday, we've been more adventurous with the food we give them. Bored of feeding them rice cereal, we decided to let them try dimsum at Tim Ho Wan. Can you imagine if your meal was just rice and milk? Bleargh, but apparently bland is good for babies.
Probably not the best parenting decision, but it was the more fun decision.
We arrived at Tim Ho Wan at Jewel just a few minutes after open, but the queue was already snaking. Due to the reduced seating capacity, the wait was about 45 minutes. Thankfully my mother in law could hold the line while we brought the kids to wander about.
Never see fountain before |
Children running about in the empty space next to the restaurant while the adults queued, kids being kids. So if your babies are rowdy, don't worry about it.
That empty space behind me matches my tired hollowed eyes. |

Eats like his mother |
My kids seemed to enjoy their dim sum, must be all the sugar in the pastry and salt in the fillings. They especially enjoyed the egg tarts and century egg porridge.
Proving to their grandmother that they don't hate porridge, they just hate her porridge. Just kidding, it's because grandma's porridge doesn't have salt as per the parents' request. |
Wouldn't be surprised if we were blacklisted. |
Looking at the mess he made |
All in a very enjoyable outing once we got a table and the baby seats, no judgmental stares from staff or other patrons despite the mess, 10/10 would do again.
